DSC investment consulting activities can broadly be summarized as follows:
- Development of Investment governance and Investment policy statement (IPS) Development of comprehensive investment governance frameworks as the foundation to achieving investment goals; Craft a holistic financial plan based on all unique needs and considerations.
- Investment Search and Selection: efficiently identify investment managers most appropriate for client given the client’s risk/return characteristics, objectives and constraints
- Investment Strategy and Portfolio construction - Plan design and investment strategy to assist clients achieve investment objectives;
- Modeling and analytics - A full analysis of all your current holdings and the strength of the portfolio as a whole. Application of Big Data and portfolio analytics techniques to identify strengths and weaknesses of client’s portfolio holdings; improve diversification and identify superior solutions
This could include, but may not be limited to, the following considerations:
- Investment Consulting (DSC)

- Monitoring & Due Diligence
- Performance Reporting
- DSC Investment Manager Oversight. This could include, but may not be limited to, the following considerations:
- Monthly and Quarterly performance analysis, including both quantitative and qualitative analysis, of each manager. The quantitative analysis should include performance evaluation against the appropriate benchmarks, manager medians, and investment objectives, as well as return attribution characteristics, style analysis and risk analysis. The qualitative analysis should include a review of the manager’s performance relative to its peers, strategy allocations, etc.
- Analysis and advice around questions or issues that arise in the course of overseeing the Dominique Strategic Consulting (DSC) investment managers. For example, advise on appropriate benchmarks, calculate custom benchmarks if necessary and advise on investment guidelines or fee structures.
- Advice and recommendations concerning manager termination.
- DSC Investment Search and Selection. For Dominique Strategic Consulting (DSC) program, this could include providing:
- Investment Screening: development of a structured process to analyze the full universe of available investments, and efficiently identify those most appropriate for client. This includes a detailed analysis of prospective investments identified by DSC.
- Identification of New Opportunities: development of a proactive program to identify new or limited-access investments and to make them available to client.
- Assistance with Due Diligence: Assist client staff with due diligence visits, both investment and operational.
- Recommendations: Present recommendations to the client, Investment Committee and Board. This will include substantive written recommendations that will present the full results of the due diligence, strategic considerations and fit within the PRIM portfolio.
- DSC Monitoring of Client Portfolios. DSC team is capable of maintaining a proactive program of overseeing client’s investments. This will include but is not limited to:
- General Monitoring: DSC will take responsibility for the timely reporting of key events that may affect the portfolio's value. This could include market changes, changes in management or substantial reductions in portfolio value. This will be conducted through monitoring of the media, personal contacts and systematic review of Managers' reports.
- Involvement with Managers: where necessary, assisting in actions to protect the interests of client as an investor, and to ensure compliance by Managers with the terms of their contracts.
- Portfolio Monitoring: where necessary, accompany client’s staff on manager due diligence visits and participate in quarterly calls or meetings.
- Review and recommend course of action on all agreement amendments.
- Violation reports. This will include measurement against appropriate benchmarks and investment objectives.
